Urges to write

Urges To Write

The other day i was just sitting to myself, when i realised one of my favourite book's 4th installment is releasing...and as always, my mind traveled to places unknown and 30 minutes later i came to the conclusion that it had been far to long since i'd last written (this was partially true).

And so, for the next 24 minutes i was completely psyched about the fact that i was writing again. My joy knew no bounds. Now, i had a few choices as to what i wanted to write...i had my not so seriously written novel, passages which i wrote for fun, and my beloved poetry. so of course my first choice was poetry (novel writing is Tedious as much as it is fun). And so i lay on my bed as is customary with book and pen and that's when the problem arose.

I lay there for precisely 17 minutes before i realised, i had nothing to write about. i was completely blank and out of ideas. No matter how much i tried to think up a rhyme or two it just wasn't working out. so naturally, i thought it would be a good idea to listen to music and get inspired by the mood of each song i heard.

What thus followed were poems that were lyrics from different songs.

Needless to say, i gave up this half hearted attempt at writing grand poetry, and switched to just reading the earlier installments of the book.

Procrastinating: Still got time.

So recently i had a festive holiday for about 2 weeks and i realised just how much we procrastinate in life....and assignments. So i was sitting today recuperating after a long hectic day of super completing assignments, when i thought, why not procrastinate just a little more by writing this pointless blog. Thus today, i would like to enumerate on the lack of activity this entire vacation. i must also add, that this is not the first time and most probably not the last time that ive procrastinated in my life...for some reason i will do so for even the smallest of things in day to day life.like oh i have to call my friend...meh lets call her later. oh i should probably eat my lunch...sighs i'm too bored to go make myself some; etc etc.

Anyway, on the first day of my holiday i was simply thrilled at the amount of spare time i had to do my assignments as well as indulge in the leisurely novel reading, watching movies, and staring into nothingness.
I thought of alllll the things i could do in the next 2 weeks to come.I knew there was work to be done too, but there was PLENTY of time for all that!

And so on the first day off i did absolutely nothing...and i mean nothing.i just sat all day, or maybe lay all day just reveling in the fact that i had sooo much time off after a tediously hectic 2 months...this was finally relaxation time....

.....and suddenly the first day had become the third.

Still...i was completely happy and had finally started moving........from the bedroom to the hall.i picked up Eragon and started re-reading it for possibly the trillionth time. i decided to finally get some new music, so i also migrated to the computer. of course there was plenty of time left...albeit the fact that i needed to take pictures for one of my many assignments, and this particular assignment required me to finish taking 5 photographs in the first 5 days of my holidays.nevertheless nothing could dampen my spirits!

By the time the 5th day had passed i realised that i needed to get some work done.atleast start on my festive photographs, before it was too late. i literally had to drag myself out of my house and sullenly walk around the area searching for unconventional ways to portray what i needed. it was dull and tedious, even though it should'nt have been.my age old habit of laziness had settled in and there was no going back.
The pile of mess in my room steadily increased with the passing days, because i was too lazy to put what i removed back into its place. furthermore my mood got steadily gloomy at the prospect of doing my assignments. The number of days left were quickly diminishing and the amount of work to do appeared to be much more because of the decreasing time.

Soon the panic that sets in when you realise you no longer had enough time to do the work comfortably, set in. anytime my mind wandered the first thing i thought of was *GAK!ASSIGNMENTS PENDING!*
I started panicking to the level of dreaming about it.So i just got out of my cesspool, took a good shower, and left my place to go photoshooting.
In my head i was like *i'm so starting my work on time the next time* but who are we kidding, we all know its going to happen again =P

(by the way, i never left my SLR lying around like that.this is just for dramatic effect >.<)
